Kounat (Korean: 코우나트, Kounat) was one of the three kingdoms that ruled on Archimedia, the other being Zeruel and the Thunder Hammer. Founded at least 3300 years ago by humans with guidance from the Three Goddesses—Ernasis, Lisnar, and Amenias, it was the legendary kingdom of magic engineering and home to the most advanced technology the world has ever witnessed—Magitech. This union also led to the birth of Celestial civilization which held supreme authority and power over the kingdom, and, to an extent, Aernas.
Kounat was ruled by Kings that hail presumably from the Kounat Royal Family, and within the kingdom were the Kounat Army and its military branch of Highlanders who ensured the safety of its people. Despite the absence of deities, the development of Magitech only continued to accelerate—so much so that the once god-worshipping nation had begun to put their blind faith in magic engineering. All of this would culminate in the Great Explosion of Kounat caused by Prime Minister Baldinar who sought to become the new Creator himself.[1][2] Whilst a remnant of a long-forgotten past, the tragedy left ripples in time that continue to haunt the people of the present.
Unlike Serdin and Kanavan, Kounat is not a region of its own in the game because of the story continuity—though players may still experience it through the dungeons Relics of Kounat and Kounat's Collapse. In Grand Chase Dimensional Chaser, it is the third unlockable area with three regular dungeons and an Epilogue dungeon.
