Kanavan is one of two kingdoms that rule on Bermesiah, the other being Serdin. It is the kingdom of swordsmanship and many phenomenal swordsmen, such as Elesis, Ronan, Elscud and Sieghart hail from Kanavan. There are also four known organizations within Kanavan: the Kanavan Royal Guard, the Ruby Knights, the Kanavan Trackers, and the Existor.
The kingdom is ruled by a Queen, with no mentions of a King, suggesting that Kanavan is ruled by a monarchy. Similarly, Serdin is ruled by a single Queen as well, with no mention of a King.
History
Kanavan and Serdin coexisted together peacefully until the Queen of Darkness, Kaze'aze, overcame the land. In Kanavan, Kaze'aze began the long war between Serdin and Kanavan when she killed the Queen of Kanavan's most trusted advisor, disguised herself as him, and enticed the Queen with darkness. Blinded by the truth, the Queen declared war on Serdin, which lasted for five years. When the Queen of Serdin died in the midst of the war, Kaze'aze's hold over Kanavan's Queen broke, but had fled before she could be executed. The Queen of Kanavan sent out Trackers to search for Kaze'aze, but after years of searching, with the Trackers disappearing and no signs of Kaze'aze to be had, the search was given up. The next Queen of Serdin formulated a new group, called the "Grand Chase", to fulfill the duties of the Kanavan Trackers.
Members
Grand Chase
There are four members of Grand Chase that are from Kanavan. One of them is Elesis, whose father was a Tracker sent out to find Kaze'aze, who never came back. Elesis, a Kanavan Knight, had joined Grand Chase in hopes of finding him. She keeps this a secret from the others until she encounters Sieghart, her Grandfather, and she rages at him for a seemingly unknown purpose, which strongly hints at an underlying reason.
The second member of Grand Chase from Kanavan is Ronan, the Royal Guard Master of Kanavan. During the war, Kaze'aze's possession of the queen extended to Ronan, which caused him to mercilessly attack the opposing kingdom. It was not until after the war ended he broke free.
He had first met Grand Chase at the Gorge of Oath as he was heading to defeat Gaikoz, and later joined the team at Gaikoz's Castle after the defeat of Gaikoz.
The third member of Grand Chase from Kanavan is Sieghart, who is known as a hero and legend in the kingdom. He had disappeared hundreds of years ago in the ruins of an ancient city. Eventually, he was risen by Highlanders and he came back. He joins the Grand Chase to help fight off more further evil.
The fourth member of Grand Chase from Kanavan is Asin, the second disciple of Tairin Asin. He was a bullied and friendless child, but all that changed when he saved Tairin and the Silver Knight took him under his wing in gratitude. When Tairin died, Asin found himself aimless until he heard of Jin from rumors, and set out to seek the Grand Chase and his teacher's prodigious pupil.
Others
The Queen of Kanavan is named Anyumena Din Kanavan[1], or simply Anyu. There is nothing known about her, other than she used to be friends with Serdin Queen Enna and Karina Erudon. Her most trusted adviser was killed by Kaze'aze, and then she took his form in order to get close to Anyu to possess her. Once having supremacy over Kanavan, she immediately waged a war against Serdin for five years. It was only until the death of Enna that freed Anyu from Kaze'aze's grasp, who then fled and escaped execution. Anyu then devised Kanavan Trackers to hunt for Kaze'aze, but unfortunately, none ever returned.
Elscud Sieghart is the father of Elesis and her mentor. As a member of the Kanavan Trackers, he left in pursuit of Kaze'aze, but unfortunately never returned. Kaze'aze reveals that she sent him and the rest of the trackers into a dimensional rip. It is heavily implied that he has high swordsmanship skills, as Kaze'aze was intrigued upon hearing his name and Grandark once praised his skills to be much more than expected for a human.
Ronan has a page named Harpe Noir, who is a member of the Erudon family's intelligence unit Existor. Harpe acted as Ronan's greatest companion as if they had a father/son bond, and he stayed by his master's side even during the Serdin/Kanavan War and until the very end where Harpe sacrificed himself for Ronan against Ashtaroth's attack, but Ronan and his comrades could not save his page's soul from the Monster Train 301.
Karina Erudon, who is known as Kaze'aze in the present day, was formerly a member of the Kanavan Royal Guard and a friend of Anyu and Enna when they were princesses. However, at the Gorge of Oath, Karina, Anyu, Enna, and several royal family members escorting them were ambushed by Ashtaroth, wiping out the family members but Karina managed to protect the princesses, however his attack had corrupted her and transformed her into a demon. Karina was then accused of genocide on the royal families and banished from Kanavan for all eternity, leading to her hatred of humans. Ashtaroth then set the stage of her new role when he taught her how to manipulate dark magic, thus transforming her into the horrendous demon known as Kaze'aze.
